Support: Crash Logs

Where to find iOS Crash Logs

Sometimes if an iPhone or iPad app is freezing or crashing it can very helpful for us to see the crash logs of the app in question. We can better diagnose issues with crash logs since they contain information about what the app was doing just prior to the crash.

To find a log file, please sync your iPhone or iPad first, then locate the correct log file for the app using the path for your operating system below. The log file’s name should start with the app’s name.

For Mac Operating Systems

In the Finder, hold down the option key and open the Go menu and choose Library. Then navigate to ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/ (your iPhone or iPad’s name) /.

For Windows XP

Please navigate to this location on your PC: C:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\ (your iPhone or iPad’s name) \.

For All Later Windows Operating Systems

Please navigate to this location on your PC: C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\ (your iPhone or iPad’s name) /.
